About Us
| Murgatroyd Broadcast Engineering Limited | is a small sound, television and film production facility within the market town of Dolgellau, Gwynedd.
Malcolm Murgatroyd runs a small team of people who create broadcast media, from podcasts to small cinematic short-film productions, for a variety of professional clients. MBE Limited can either operate from their studio or out on location.
The key members of the team are:
Malcolm J Murgatroyd (Director)
Malcolm has a sizeable background in many aspects of technical broadcast engineering having worked within the industry for over forty years. He has owned and run two music recording studios, owned two record labels, designed and operated a large rock PA system and has worked in virtually all aspects of the film industry, including writing and directing ‘film shorts’ and behind-the-scenes productions for well-known movie industry companies. As an electronics engineer, he is responsible for designing and constructing several ground-breaking scientific instruments used in world leading research by a university here in Wales. Malcolm’s down-time is taken up with his fine-art photography, making a name for himself in this field during the 1980s and beyond.

DirectorBeth Gloster (Office Manager)
Beth is Malcolm’s assistant and right-hand person. She is fluent in both Welsh and English and is a professional bookkeeper having her own company for many years. Beth has long experience working in amateur dramatics, both on stage and backstage, working especially with the technical team. Beth is a keen medieval re-enactor and is a self diagnosed history geek.

Angharad, aside from being Malcolm’s long-suffering wife, supports the team with research, office skills and works as one of our radio presenters. Angharad is a qualified librarian and is known for her investigative abilities, supporting the creation of the required material for various productions. Angharad also runs her own successful natural-fibres wool-shop for those knitters out there!
